September at Dunnolly

It’s finally September and the days are getting longer - bring on daylight savings!

The Dunnolly Vineyard is just about to swing back into action. The lambs are out and looking deliciously cute (& tasty)! The daffodils, tulips & Iris’s are flowering and there is a sense of excitement in the air.

For Dad this is his most nervous time of the year - he’s been anxiously looking at the frost forecast as our buds are about to burst. The frost fan is primed, full of diesel and ready to go.

The long range forecast is for some frosty mornings as we’ve had plenty of snow on the hills this year. However, generally the temperature is starting to warm up (thanks goodness) and soon we will be able to wear Tee Shirts instead of Layers of Merino!

We also had our new vintage of 2017 Reserve Chardonnay review by one of our Kiwi wine writers and was awarded 5 Stars - that is something to celebrate! I can’t wait to you all to try it and post your own reviews.

Have a lovely week all.

Take care
