2019 Dunnolly Pinot Gris:
Back for its fourth vintage we are delighted to have produced this wine for you all. After having such an extremely hot and dry summer, the fruit ripened fast. Dad & I chose to pick the fruit this year a little earlier than we would have normally to ensure that we could preserve those lovely pear drop aromas.
Pure pear drop, hints of citrus and ripe stone fruit. This wine is an aromatic bombshell. The palate is in perfect balance, complimented by a refined mouthfeel and moreish texture. I recently had some good friend to dinner, we enjoyed our 2019 Pinot Gris with a spicy Roast Duck Red Curry and fluffy Jasmine Rice. It was divine!
2018 Dunnolly Reserve Chardonnay:
Over the last three years, Dad & I has spent a lot of time, money and effort to improve the quality of our Chardonnay. In 2017 we increased the MLF percentage to enhance complexity and in 2018 we have increased our new oak percentage from 20% to 30%. This increased investment in new oak is designed to be subtle and integrate well into the wine - bringing a sense of warmth and opulence to the nose and palate. The 2018 Reserve Chardonnay spent 10months in new oak before being bottled in March 2019.
Apricot and nectarine with warm new French Oak. The palate has a refreshing acidity, oozing ripe fruit characters that are balanced with subtle natural fruit sweetness. This wine goes with loads of different food pairing. My absolute favourite would be a seafood paella loaded with New Zealand Green Lip Mussels, clams, snapper and calamari. Absolutely divine to share with friends and family.
